THE STORY: Château life in the middle of Bordeaux’s most beautiful vineyard? Get a taste of it inside the gates of the lovely Château Réal! Located along Bordeaux’s famous wine route, this 19th-century building was initially run by a high-ranking Napoleonic official and then a bourgeois family in 1820, before falling, two centuries later, into the capable hands of Parisians Kelly and Elian Travaini (he’s a former engineer, she used to work as a communicator), both of whom adore architecture. Under their management, original decor elements (mouldings, Gironde tiling, fireplaces, Medoc-style door handles) flirt cleverly with modern furnishings (The Socialite Family couch and coffee tables, Maison Gatti chairs, Nedgis light fixtures). Upstairs, you’ll find two bedrooms and three suites, all of which are spacious, luminous and relaxing, sublimated by picture-perfect views of the pool on one side and the grapevines on the other. Not to mention the old farmhouse, which has been transformed into a massive outbuilding with three bedrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen and a beautiful lounge done up with stone and wood, which can accommodate up to eight guests at a time… In short, everything you need for a chill vineyard experience! Double rooms starting at €160 a night.

TOILETRIES: Océopin soap, body wash, shampoo and dry oil.
BREAKFAST: Included, with coffee or tea, freshly squeezed orange juice, bread, viennoiseries, butter, honey and homemade jam, compote, fresh fruit salad, fromage blanc, muesli… and eggs straight from the chicken coop!
LITTLE LUXURY: Laze about in the bathtub that has pride of place in the middle of the Madame Tronquoy suite, for some royal relaxation down to the tip of your toes!
