THE STORY: Run for fifty years by two rather grumpy cousins, l’Hôtel de la Plage (Chez Magne) is part of Cap Ferret’s folklore. Nowadays, Nicolas Lascombe, who manages this former lumberjacks’ den (1860), left it in its original state with basic comforts and communal showers. But that’s part of its charm, like the terrace facing the Bassin, absolutely divine. Rooms at €75: a bargain!
