THE STORY: A lover of the Landes region, the Parisian Philippe Demange transformed this former convent in the small village of Saint-Julien-en-Born, 8 kilometers from the ocean, into a peaceful retreat, perfect for recharging one’s batteries (or partying) as a group. An idyllic spot, the four-hectare property is centered around the spacious main house (a fully-equipped kitchen with a double stove; a dining room with a spectacular twenty-person table; an XXL living room with a bar, couches and chaise longues; four bedrooms…) and two guest houses (for five people each), along with a studio/loft (for two). All of which has cool, chic décor: pieces by Sarah Lavoine, a full-scale Jedi Master watching out of one of the windows, etc. €1,980 for two nights on the weekend.
TOILETRIES: Shower gel and shampoo.
INTERNET: Wifi (free)
BREAKFAST: €12 with coffee or tea, bread, jams, viennoiseries, fruit juice, eggs and bacon.
LITTLE LUXURY: Upon request, Philippe can organize meals (from €35 to €55 per person, depending on the menu), in-house rock concerts, or reserve a boat for you at the Cap Ferret.
