NUMBER OF ROOMS: 7 modges (2 people), 1 lodge (6 people)
CLOSED ANNUALLY: Open all year round
THE STORY: Claire Aubanelle and her husband Thomas had been vacationing in the Landes department for years until one day they decided to move there permanently. Their paradise? An ensemble of eight ecologically responsible lodges with private terraces, all mounted on stilts and scattered around a lake located fifteen minutes outside of Hossegor. Built from light wood by local artisans, the accommodations are decorated in a Scandinavian spirit (modern furniture, wood-fired stoves, rocking chairs…) with high-end luxuries (2×2 square meter beds, high-speed internet, Aesop toiletries, storage for golfers…). Starting at €250 a night for the “modge” (which sleeps two) and €400 a night for the lodges (families of six). Plus, you get access to the pool and the pergola with its suspended armchairs (for a small fee)..
TOILETRIES: Aesop shampoo, cleansing gel (hand, body), conditioner and balm (hand, body).
INTERNET: Free (wifi).
BREAKFAST: €10, with sodas and mineral waters, plus an espresso machine with coffee roasted in Bayonne, and Lov Organic teas and infusions available in all the rooms.
LITTLE LUXURY: There’s an iPad hooked up to Sonos speakers in every room, so you can jazz up your trip with a playlist of your own.
