THE STORY: After the Luberon (Domaine de Fontenille), Marseille (bords de mer) and Menorca (Fontenille Menorca), Frédéric Biousse and Guillaume Foucher camped out their latest spot near Hossegor, at Hortensias du Lac, a local institution with a Basque-Landes feel that’s been made over as a luxury surf lodge. For the most part, the 25 rooms for surfers (and everyone else!) are each equipped with a private balcony or terrace in this very Hamptonian setting. Light wood, natural materials (linen, teak,sisal, stone),exposed surfboards… you’d almost think you were in Montauk! Rooms starting at €160 a night.
