NUMBER OF ROOMS: 141 beds
CLOSED ANNUALLY: Closed from December 2017 until February 2018

THE STORY: Dreamt up for millennials, the first Jo&Joe opened its doors in Hossegor, a mere 400 meters from the ocean. The concept? An open house for “tripsters” that’s part-hotel (for your comfort), part-youth-hostel (for your social life) and part-vacation-home (for that cozy “at home” feeling). Decorated by the English design studio PENSON, the space is fun and colorful (surfboards hung from the ceiling, giant bean bags, vibrant carpeting, bunk beds), and this dynamic new spot has private rooms (for 2 to 5 people) and shared rooms (for 7 to 12 people), all carefully thought out so you retain a maximum amount of privacy. There’s even an original 10-person accommodation, with a fireplace and a round “pizza-style” couch! And don’t forget about the adult playground quality of the place, with its beer and cocktail bar, restaurants and various organized activities (meet ups, concerts, ateliers), which are also open to the “townsters.” Beds starting at €25 a night.

TOILETRIES: Shower gel and shampoo.
INTERNETWifi (free)
BREAKFAST: The Classic Jo option (€4) includes coffee or tea, fruit juice and half a baguette with butter and jam, while the full breakfast option(€6) includes all that, plus a yogurt, a bowl of cereals and some fruit.
LITTLE LUXURY: The community kitchen, where you can cook your own meals, or take a cooking class.
