THE STORY: This is quite the grand human adventure, led for the last 20 years by Claire and Stéphane Bécret in an airial (a grassy stretch of land occupied by a Landes-style home, which used to house a family of farmers), located at the edge of the Seignosse pine forest. This eco-friendly refuge for surfers looking for waves and an escape into nature is home to three shared pads plus a family home in the farmhouse, and two other private bedrooms located in the garden – which previously hid a pigsty and a bread oven! The crown jewel? The former sheepfold, which has been transformed into a communal space, with a fully-equipped kitchen, a long solid wood table, a massive fireplace, a retro pinball machine, plus pool and foosball tables… not to mention all the surfboards, scattered about or hanging on the walls like lucky charms. In addition to all that, the “wellness” space (jacuzzi, steam room, massage rooms in a treehouse) gets the job done right, especially after a surf session… Everything you need for some R&R before hitting the waves again. Six nights + five surf lessons package starting at €565 per person (material included).

TOILETRIES: Artisan body wash and shampoo provided upon request, to avoid waste.
BREAKFAST: Organic, locally-sourced and included in the weekly fee, featuring coffee, tea, fruit juice, sourdough bread, butter, homemade jams, honey, dairy products, various cereals…
LITTLE LUXURY: Braséro nights on Tuesday evenings in the garden, a great opportunity to share your favorite recipes and practice your surf lingo with enthusiasts from both the area and further away.
