THE STORY: For Mama Shelter Bordeaux, the forth of its name, the Trigano family has fallen back on their usual winning formula: an atypical space (the former Régie du Gaz et de l’Electricité building, a modern UFO-like structure from the 1930s) in the center of Bordeaux, with a stunning rooftop! Obviously, the Stark touch with gigantic foosball tables, unpretentious pizzas and festive cocktails is still there, as are the bedrooms with colorful walls, 27’’ iMacs (unlimited free films!) and Superman masks. There’s no workout room however, but there are two ping-pong tables in the basement, and right across the street from the hotel, the new Mama’s Kiss for snacks (crêpes, waffles, sandwiches) or good quality coffee. Rooms starting at €69 a night.
