S.V.P? Sauces, vins and plats (dishes), alsjeblieft! Such is life at this sleek shop in Antwerp’s cultural center, swankily done up by interior designer Margot Bertels for Frédéric Chastro and Adriana Zafiris, who left many feeling orphaned when their neo-bistro Sōma shut its doors. But all’s well that ends well, as the friendly duo are back with a pantry full of carefully selected goods, providing the neighborhood with well-balanced meals (like the pasta fatta a mano by Pastology, whipped up with spinach and feta, or the saffrony sea bream with mussels and langoustines) and a whole host of apéritif gems: Kalamata olives, authentic rosette de Lyon, salami from Salaisons Linard in Aveyron – to pair with a Greek or French wine selected by Frédéric. More, S’il Vous Plaît! // Kiko Zushi
THE HIDDEN GEM: The chicken, bacon and tomato club sandwich, just like you’d get in the U.S.A. (€10).
