On a forgotten corner at the end of Avenue Louise, this steampunk cocktail den from Sophie Barrière and Leslie Moreau (who also co-run Brussels Cocktail Week) looks a bit like a boat that’s run aground. Inside, the plastic flowers and the decor inspired by a famous brand of spirits even raise a slight doubt: is this a mixo-philic club or a dungeon for role-players? But the concoctions dispel all the trolls and dragons. Here, it’s all about gin, and naturally, G&Ts (€11-16) – but there are other options too! Picked at random from the menu: a Big Foot with honey and ginger herbal tea, ginger wine and smoked whiskey – it’s just what the doctor ordered; an unusual Dahu with vodka, honey, dry vermouth, thyme and clarified goat’s milk; or an enigmatic Kodama with gin, shiitake, Sichuan pepper and grapes (all at €13). Avoid getting too giddy with an artichoke and basil dip from the neighboring Les Belles Sœurs (€6.50), saucisson (€6) or wasabi peanuts (€3). And all is forgiven! // Toni Negroni
