Pelotons that like a good drink have found their bike-loving HQ in the Linkeroever neighborhood. Led out of the saddle by cycling-mad Filip Roose, who used to work for a design agency, this joyful chaos (Formica tables, cycling jerseys on the wall, basil growing in empty XXL Mutti cans) sets a three-speed tempo of coffee, bikes and apéro! Take the day out easy with an extra strong espresso pulled on the Marzocco (€3), lemon and ginger Jarr kombucha (€6.50) or De Drie Wilgen fruit juices (€3.50). And come apéro time, shift things up a gear with craft bottled beers (including a sour IPA Kiss My Neighbor’s Wife, €5 for 330 ml) or Cristal Alken pilsner on tap (€2.80 for a half-pint) for beer geeks, a few clean wines for grape lovers (a Catalan pet’ nat’ by Clot de Les Soleres at €8 a glass, or Cerro Negro from Baldovar 923, €49 a bottle), and even classic cocktails with a subtle twist – like the Solar gin and tonic (€12) or virgin Not So Bloody Mary (€4.50). Pair the lot with crispy scrocchiarelle (a sort of half-focaccia, half-pizza concoction) garnished with seasonal ingredients, like the one with tomato, mozzarella, pesto and preserved artichokes (€14-24 depending on the toppings). // Annie Zette
