NUMBER OF ROOMS: 1 gîte for 10 guests
ANNUAL CLOSURE: Open year round
THE STORY: By ditching Paris and heading to Normandy with their kids and husbands in tow, Gaëlle Bonnieux (who used to work in microfinance) and Claire Wills Diquet (a former ad exec) knew that they were setting off on a major adventure – one that would take place around an orchard, egg-laying hens and market gardening… And now at GonneGirls Farm, they’ve added a cool agricultural gîte, tucked away in their immense farmhouse at the edge of the Pays d’Auge. You’ll find five bedrooms with sober tones and materials (solid wood, wicker, linen sheets), and with four bathrooms, for group vacations! There’s also a fully-equipped kitchen and big couches in the living room with views of the private garden, where you can eat lunch in the shade of the apple trees during the summer months – or warm yourself around the brasero fire pit when the temperatures dip below zero… The cherry on top of this organic cake? The bountiful harvest by these neo-farmers that’s sold on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. A country jaunt, a mere ten minutes from the sea by bike – which are provided to guests! Gîte starting at €270 a night.
BREAKFAST: Upon your arrival, eggs from the farm, homemade cake and fresh fruit will be waiting for you on the dining room table.
TOILETRIES: Artisan soap and shampoo.
LITTLE LUXURY: Coming with your dog, who will be housed in a private kennel!
