THE STORY: Enki Bilal, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Sophie Marceau, Christian Slater, Johnny Hallyday… What began in the 19th century as the Hôtel de la Poste has since seen a very handsome crowd pass through its beautiful sheets… The Festival international du film fantastique de Gérardmer, which sends the town into a panic every winter, plays its role. But it’s not wholly responsible for the impressive guest list: the jacuzzi baths, hydro-massage showers and chalet-inspired décor quickly warm up guests as well. Not to mention the bonfire! Suites starting at €430.

TOILETRIES: Body lotion, rosemary scented soap and shampoo Châteaux & Hôtels Collection.
INTERNET: Wifi (free).
BREAKFAST: Buffet or served in bed (€20 per person), with coffee and tea, freshly made fruit juices, smoked salmon, charcuteries, Antillais boudin, cheeses, waffles, crêpes, fruit salad, raw vegetables, viennoiseries, bread, jams, fresh fruit…
SPA: Face and body treatments, exfoliations and massages with Decléor, Carita or Terraké products, ranging from €48 to €300.
MINI-BAR: Fruit juice, Coca-Cola, 1664 beer, Perrier, Vittel.
LITTLE LUXURY: The fireplace hearth opening out onto the lounge and bedroom. It’s so rare to find a hotel with real fireplaces in the bedroom…
