THE STORY: The name says it all! Life is beautiful in the countryside, at least according to Zoé Boinet, the former co-manager and sommelier at the Auberge de Chassignolles, who, despite challenges along the way, moved mountains (specifically, the Jura massif) to find the perfect spot of her own. And she landed on the ideal location: an utterly charming longère (a traditional local farmhouse) in the Jura department, where she skillfully maintained the original features (tomette tile floors, old stone walls, wooden rafters), unveiling a spacious and inviting inn that is just as welcoming as the host herself, equipped with seventies-style furnishings, plus delicious food and board! What should you expect from the bedrooms? Four double rooms, each equipped with an incredibly comfortable bed and views of either the garden or the orchard… Special mention for the family room, which boasts its own private entrance and includes two children’s beds, a small kitchen, a private terrace and even a pétanque court! In short, a remote inn that’s worth the drive out, which you won’t want to leave anytime soon. Double rooms starting at €110 a night.

TOILETRIES: Natural Soeder body cleansing oil, shampoo and conditioner.
BREAKFAST: A locavore breakfast is included in the price, featuring hot drinks (including coffee from St. Romain Coffee), Le Petit Verger and Nos Jardins Imparfaits fruit juices, artisan spelt bread, farm-fresh butter, honey from Les Jardins du Bief Salé, homemade jams, compote and granola, farm-fresh yogurt from La Marmellerie, along with boiled eggs, fresh goat cheese and smoked ham.
LITTLE LUXURY: Sit down for a meal at the restaurant! Australian chef Byron Fini runs the kitchen, and will keep you exceptionally well fed.
