It’s not always easy to separate the good from the intoxicating… Starting from this observation, Maxime Maitre, formerly of Terres de Café, decided to turn an old tearoom/café into a hybrid spot, that’s both a wine shop and a coffee shop! Aka a two-level joint where you can savor specialty coffee upstairs, and grab some beautiful bottles of natural wine on the ground floor: Il Fait Soif, a lovely syrah-grenache blend from the Gramenon winery in the Rhone (€14.50), La Chaussée Rouge, a highly drinkable grolleau-cabernet blend from La Grange aux Belles in Anjou (€11.50), or Vin Jaune 2015 from Tissot (€89)… Not to mention the épicerie section, where you can fill up your tote bag with good quality products, like Superbon seaweed chips, dandelion jelly and, best of all, carefully-sourced coffee, from both Africa and the Americas. // Gwen Jacquère
THE BULLET-PROOF BOTTLE: Alicia 2014, a rare alicante Bouschet from the Gard winery Lous Grezes (€20.80).
