THE STORY: Aurélie Gueniffey’s immaculate house is discreetly tucked away behind the Beaune ramparts, and sleeps up to 11 of your most well-behaved friends. La Maison du Bastion, the new playground for this legal expert-turned-park and garden designer, includes two apartments (with either a terrace or a balcony) and four contemporary suites (a sun mirror, old-fashioned frames, a wood-fired oven), done up with Farrow & Ball wallpaper and paint. Totally customizable, you can rent a suite, an apartment, or even reserve the entire place (2-night minimum stay). Bedrooms starting at €100 a night, apartments starting at €150 a night and the entire house starting at €650.

BREAKFAST: No, but there is a Nespresso coffee machine and an electric teapot in every suite/apartment.
