Where coffee meets corks. Nestled in the heart of Beaune’s wine country, this cozy, dual-purpose spot effortlessly balances espresso cups and wine glasses, spreading feel-good vibes courtesy of its owners. One door down from his partner’s fabric shop, David Maurin’s (ex-Caves Madeleine) well-honed roasts and grazeable bites go down a treat, while Julie keeps spirits high pouring MOK beans and Saint-Romain wines. Start your morning with a loaded egg mayo sandwich or a croissandwich stacked with Jura cheese from Ferme de Laisia and housemade ham using pork from Petits Bois farm. Lunchtime switches gears: lightly spiced chicken broth with melting butternut squash, chickpeas with bite and a generous dusting of Parmesan; a pointed cabbage and cauliflower salad cloaked in Caesar dressing, all draped with smoked anchovies; or even an authentic caillette with wilted Swiss chard, sheep’s milk yogurt and a rich meaty jus. By evening, coffee gives way to local wines, while chef Mike Hazlewood (ex-Saint-Eutrope) takes command in the kitchen. · Laszlo Dela

FEELING THIRSTY? A coffee shop with a wine list that rivals most bars – who’d a thunk it! Mostly local wines: a coteaux bourguignons from Renaud Boyer (€12 a glass), a white MesdemoiZelles 2014 from Philippe and Cécile Valette (€90 a bottle) or Cuvée 910, a mâcon Vignes du Mayne (€75). Beer lovers aren’t forgotten: Nuance, an amber ale from Jura brewery Levain (€21 for 750 ml) or an elusive Saint Lamvinus from Cantillon (€46).

PRICE: Plates €10-12 (breakfast), €12-15 (lunch), €7-18 (dinner), desserts €3.50-5.
