The backdrop? A commercial zone, the gigantic Le Mas des Agriculteurs grocery store supplied by local Gard farmers across the street, a massive terrace and a bright interior with industrial design, hardwood floors, Anduze vases, a cigar cellar, a collection of old cookie tins and white curtains to block out the view of the parking lot. This is the latest restaurant from the Lisita team, with Olivier Douet in the kitchen and Stéphane Debaille taking care of the wines. The day we went for lunch, local producers and farmers were honored on the menu: an impeccable chilled heirloom tomato velouté with mussels from the Bassin de Thau; delicious slow-roasted and then pan-fried pork with a savory-infused jus and eggplant caviar; before brioche caramelized French toast-style, paired with cherries stewed in kirsch, plus caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream… // Raoul Taburin
