In their Mexicool shop (big communal tables, unfinished walls, lucha libre masks on the walls), Henri and Emmanuel spice up the lives of Toulouse locals with their outstanding tacos, made every day with organic wheat flour and topped with local ingredients and mucho amooooor. The day we went for lunch: a taco filled with shredded pork from Mont Ventoux, white cabbage, pickled onions and a ton of fresh cilantro – or the vegetarian version with green lentils, zucchini, spinach and lemon; refreshing organic wolfish cevice from Friuli, with a lemon and chili marinade, paired with pickled white cabbage; before a tasty hazelnut financier with kumquat sorbet and hibiscus meringue that hits the sweet spot. FYI! The taqueria turns into a bar on Friday and Saturday nights, ideal for nibbling on nachos, grilled corn and other treats, all washed down with mezcal and tequila. // G.LeP.
