Nustled up against L’Arlatan, Maja Hoffmann’s Le Sauvage is disrupting the luxury boutique genre. Is it a jewelry shop? A perfumery? No, it’s a bakery! Commissioned by the art patron and with her right-hand man Pierre Collet at the helm, this place is impressive: a fully windowed workshop, a wall fresco by a Breton glassmaker duo, and an imposing counter carved in marble, which is the perfect pedestal for hosting the bakers’ creations, who are all dressed in Atelier Tuffery. On display, treasures from the South and elsewhere: orange blossom navettes, lavender pompes à l’huile, matcha lemon cake, candied fig and apricot kouglof… and divine bread, like the naturally leavened sourdough and toasted five-grain loaf, or the honey and rye version – to die for. // Nour Passages
