Jean-Michel Scotto presides over this century-old épicerie with its typical red awning stretched out above the stalls, featuring equally eye-catching produce, like organic beefsteak tomatoes and zucchini (€4.90/kg each) from the Ferme de Queccialba. The interior feels chic, with bottles of Bollinger Champagne, foie gras and Japanese whiskey lining the entrance. In reality, it’s one of the island’s rare spots for luxury products: vibrant olive oil from the Domaine Moltremonti, Anatra jams, Félix Torre pâté… Place your bets on anything fresh! In the dairy section, there are fragrant farm-fresh goat’s milk tomme cheeses from Monte Astu (€42/kg), and logs of latteria cheese from La Latteria d’Oru (€8), plus a selection of fine meats, like the delicate prisutto (€80/kg) or the lonzo ham by Ghipponi (€85/kg). In short, you can expect a diverse selection of goods from all around the island! // D.S.
Hidden gem: The famous (and impossible to find!) artisanal Corsican charcuterie, represented here by the best of the AOP, an organic Nustrale pork sausage from Vincensini (€85/kg).
