With a name like Rezhin (which means “grape” in Breton), this wine bar/shop located between Piriac-sur-Mer and the salt marshes of Mès quite clearly sets the tone. Opened in the summer of 2021 by Olivier Averseng (the founder of Club Cochon) in a former village bakery, the space is lovely (rough walls and ceiling, bric-a-brac furniture, wine posters) and houses an impressive collection of 200 labels of living wines. If the Loire region is prominently featured, notably with some of its finest winemakers (Zoé and Thierry Puzelat of Le Clos du Tue Boeuf in Cheverny, David Foubert of La Folle Berthe in Saumur, Angélique and Quentin Bourse of Le Sot de l’Ange in Azay-le-Rideau…), France’s other appellations are equally present, with everyone from Régis Bard (Alsace), Bernard Vallette (Beaujolais) and Nicolas Carmarans (Aveyron). In short, there’s nothing but good things to uncork (if you want to open up a bottle in house, count on paying an additional €5 corkage fee) alongside local eats, starting with oysters from Kercabellec. // François Larosé
THE BULLET-PROOF BOTTLE: Paintball 2022 from La Ferme du Cade (€15.50), a fresh and light grenache that exudes summer berries and rose petals.
