Sylvain Lecomte’s Dekkera feels like a cross between a teenager’s bedroom (soccer team paraphernalia, Panini stickers, The Smiths posters), a zythology classroom (scholarly tastings, books and magazines dedicated to beer), and most of all, a festive bar with a multi-faceted ceiling. Opened in 2018 and named after the yeast originally used to make lambic, this spot favors beers from independent craft brewers from no more than 200 kilometers away, served in cans (CoHop, Illegaal), bottles (The Musketeer, De Ranke) and on tap (Belgo Sapiens, La Senne)… in total, there are 160 beers to choose from! Plus snacks: cheese and/or charcuterie boards (€10 for a small, €16 for a large) or even individual hard-boiled eggs (€1). And a little bit of live music from time to time. / Rémi Nigaut
The bullet-proof bottle: The Petit Grisou, a light, grain-heavy, spicy grisette from the Sans Tête brewery (€3.30 for 330 ml).
