La cave de Belleville

Tucked away in the heights of Belleville since 2015, the wine shop owned by Thomas Perlmutter (a former pharmacist) and François Braouezec (a former sound engineer) has become a mainstay of good wines over the last decade! Their giant wine collection fills the shop’s big shelves, composed of 1,500 labels of biodynamic or natural wines: L’Or des Schistes, a Saint-Chinian red from the Domaine de Clairic (€20), a mineral Montlouis-sur-Loire from the Domaine Vallée Moray (€18), and Les Pouches, a Saumur-Champigny from Sylvain Dittière (€30). You could also opt for carefully chosen beers (like the Icauna pale ale from Popihn sold at €5 for 440 ml) or, if you’re hungry, there’s a small épicerie section with canned goods, charcuterie and cheeses. Also worth mentioning: Thursday nights are regional tasting nights with a blind quiz game. // Adrien Bir

The bullet-proof bottle: L’Avant Garde, a Gard Syrah Grenache blend from the Domaien Julian (€16).
