A replica of the Beirut bar by the same name, Kissproof is testing its adaptability high up in the Belleville neighborhood, 10 years after the original location was founded. The setting? A lemon-yellow facade, neon red lights, and a bar behind which you’ll find Ralph Samaha, who used to work at the Lebanese version. The night we went, while enjoying the flawless playlist, we found him shaking up a provocative Liquid Lamborghini in My Flaming Cocaine cocktail (vodka, crémant and absinthe, €11), followed by a flamboyant Pink Sheep of Beirut (pineapple rum, hibiscus, kefir, arak and lime, €11). Meanwhile, in the kitchen, chef Mohamad Flayfil pulls together mouthwatering small plates, like the smoked labneh and stracciatella drizzled in oil infused with shichimi togarashi (€9), or the steak tartare with toasted almonds, fried sunchokes and grated Comté (€14). // Jackie Pépite
