Things are starting to bottleneck on Rue Jean-Pierre-Timbaud! As its sidewalks teem with hotspots (Bouche, Delicatessen Place, La Datcha, Gramme 11…), the Chambre Noire clique is determined to pour happy wines over at Cave Canaille posted up at number 100 on the same street. A nice round number for this wine shop that’s packed with quality nectars, which can be taken off the shelves after listening to some sound advice from the house’s wine expert, Antony Robine: Pétrichor, a highly drinkable Ardèche grenache by Dorothée and Lilian Reynaud from the Domaine Loublachon (€15 a bottle), Deux Couleurs, an Alsatian skin-contact white produced by Yannick Meckert (€27), Le Jeau, an incisive chenin from Julien Delrieu (€21)… and if you’re really thirsty, you can even grab a seat at one of the pedestal tables for a few glugs (in exchange for a €10 corkage fee in addition to the bottle price), while nibbling on a grilled cheese sandwich or some tinned fish. // Albin Nycta
THE BULLET-PROOF BOTTLE: Joujou, a divine gamay vinified by Le Clos Bateau (€22).
