When the Vietnamese Khan Ly Huyn and the Singaporean Pearlyn Lee teamed up, the result was this futuristic pan-Asian restaurant named The Hood! In this big space (a grooved bar, glass light fixtures, faux leather benches), come any time of day for a golden milk (oak milk and homemade golden milk syrup) with all the other neighborhood hipsters. Then order a mountain of Vietnamese buttermilk fried chicken with homemade sriracha mayonnaise, some very impressive chicken rice lah (chicken from the Landes via Terroirs d’Avenir) in an incredible broth, caramel pork belly and loin with ginger, garlic, coconut rice and a tea egg, or a vegan chickpea curry. Props to their chiffon cake, a sublime pandan and coconut milk creation served with a shot of kaya (crème pâtissière). Impressed? Take a stroll through their takeaway section! // J.P.
FEELING THIRSTY? Any type of coffee drink you want (€2 to €5.50), golden milk or freshly pressed juice (€5).
