Created by Mathieu Huygens and his partner Nina Carleer (who designed their cool logo), the audacious La Source microbrewery has been housed in the Be-Here market building since 2019 – described as a sustainable village all under one roof. Here, our hopping mad beer lovers offer 15 proud seasonal representatives on tap, with an additional five pulled directly from the tank! The bar is cozy and there’s even a kids’ corner – the perfect excuse for worn-out parents. Here, it’s all about flavor, like Totally Recalled, a delicious IPA with a hint of tropical fruits. Want something a little more bitter? Opt for the (badly named) No Pleasure! Snack on cheese, saucisson, chips & guacamole if you’re hungry, while zig-zagging to avoid roller skaters (Rollerland Brussels is located right next door), or check out the various food stands for bigger hunger pangs. We’ll be back for the regular gig nights, where the featured bands sometimes even inspire new beers! // Gueuze Van Sant
THE BULLET-PROOF BOTTLE: If it’s available on tap, snap up a Lièvre (€3 for a half-pint), a fruity yet bitter IPA (also available in a can).
