THE STORY: After breaking through the Parisian restaurant scene with Café Trama and then Tram, Marion Trama and Paul Hayat are now welcoming guests in a region that’s on everybody’s lips: the Perche! Their new playground is an eighteenth-century home with all its original charm intact, tastefully redecorated by interior architect Marie Carmarans. Guests are spread out across the space in two big bedrooms (tomette tile floors, beige tones, linen galore) and a third featuring vintage furniture and a fireplace, plus an attic suite with soft tones, bathed in natural light. As for the rest? The comfortable common areas on the ground floor are ideal for lounging about, and the garden is getting a lush new makeover just in time for summer. Double rooms starting at €170 a night.
TOILETRIES: La Savonnerie de la Chapelle soap, shampoo and body wash, all made locally.
BREAKFAST: Included, featuring local products (sheep’s milk cheese from Flavien Rigot, bread from Saint-Hilaire, jams from Les Vergers du Haut Sureau, fruit from the farmers’ market in Mortagne) and more elaborate plates, with both sweet (brioche French toast, yogurt with candied Maltese orange, dates and granola) and savory options (blinis with crab rémoulade, the house’s incredible croque-monsieur with truffle salt).
LITTLE LUXURY: Grab a glass of natural wine and some lovely small plates by Lou Samaha at her wine bar La Vie en Rouge, just three minutes away by foot!
