Already at the helm of La Güerita, a smokin’ hot taco bar at the Grand Scène (street) food court, Manon Liétard has expanded her playground with Béatriz – a nod to singer Beatriz Adriana. Expect brick walls, a zellige-tiled counter, warm colors, and plenty of ceviche and margaritas to delight the whole of Boulevard Lebas! Live from the jealously guarded and fully loco patio, this time round we nibbled: a crunchy tostada topped with raw pollack, addictive green mayo, salsa macha (a garlic-chili condiment), pomelo and fresh herbs; corn tortillas overflowing with love, like the one with steamed cod, a cherry rhubarb sauce vierge and elderflowers, or the other stunning one with mushy peas, grilled cos lettuce and feta cheese, both drizzled with Belgian spicy sauces from Swet, and followed by a double chocolate mousse with toasted hazelnuts and fleur de sel, in homage to the ingredient revered by the Aztecs. // Victoria Bout
FEELING THIRSTY? Local, artisanal Tandem or Cambier beers (€4 for a pint), three variations of margaritas (€9-13) and a short but effective list of natural wines: a Luberon red from Les Maoù (€34 a bottle), or a Limoux blanc from Etienne Fort (€44). ¡Salud!
PRICE: Menu €20 (lunch), à la carte €31-36 (dinner).
