Right near the Wazemennes market, Kiff-Kiff has the sun shining all year round! You’ll find colorful walls, a central bar where you can ogle the savory pastries, a dining room under a glass ceiling and friendly staff. The French-Algerian chef Riad Benhaddouche pays homage to North African brick pastries, which are available here in five different versions, like the Sidi Brahim filled with (hallal) chicken, orange blossom, cinnamon, egg and parsley, or the vegetarian Damous with hummus, pickles, beets, tomatoes, red onion, cilantro and mint. After that? Sublime sweet pastries: pistachio and rosewater cheesecake, date and orange blossom Cookiff cookies… On the weekends, there’s a brunch option that destroys the competition: brick pastries, vegetable salad, orange blossom brioche French toast, cookies, lemonade and mint tea. Yallah! // S.S.
FEELING THIRSTY? Homemade lemonade (€3), tea (green, black, rooibos, €3 for a mug or €7.50 for a one liter teapot), nana mint tea (€1.80).
PRICE: Brick pastries €7 to €7.50, sweet pastries €2.50 to €4, sides €3.50, brunch €20 (Sunday).
