The label doesn’t matter, so long as it’s bold! On Place Sébasto’, Thomas Martin (the former boss of La Cave du Lieu-Dit) and Stéphane Marty (a self-taught wine merchant) impatiently await their in-the-know customer base. To your left, a wall entirely dotted with honestly made wines: a 100% Saumur chenin from the Domaine du Mortier (€15), sparkling rosé from the Domaine de l’Astré in Dordogne (€15), a Jura savagnin from the Tissots (€61)… To your right, shelves filled with spirits, where you’ll find absinthe from the Breton distillery Awen Nature (€57), Armorik whisky from the same region (€46), artisan rums from La Famille Ricci (€49.90 for 500 ml, €66 for 700 ml) or even gin from the Lachanenche distillery (€47 for 700 ml). A treasure trove of good things, essentially – and, as an added bonus, the duo regularly holds tasting nights! // Victoria Bout
THE BULLET-PROOF BOTTLE: Demain, C’est Loin, a lively red blend from the aforementioned Domaine de l’Astré (€18.50 for a liter).
