If it weren’t for the beehive at the far end of the parking lot, you’d never guess that this gas-station-looking spot was hiding away some of the best farm-raised contraband… Established by around 30 producers, this cartel has one rule: they only sell the crème de la crème of products grown (mostly organically) from a 50-km radius. So fill your shopping bag up with all kinds of Ardèche goodies: goat cheese from Rolande and Jean-Philippe Fourel, rosehip ketchup from the Domaine de la Grognonnerie, and pork products from the Vernas farm packed into the fridges (chipolatas and merguez sausages) or prepared in jars (caillettes, chestnut pork pâté). And there are even things dealt out by weight, like rapeseed honey from Cécile Chavanon (€4.50 for 250 g), in addition to seasonal fruits and vegetables. // Pica Bidon

THE HIDDEN GEM: La Castinade, a charming spread that combines AOC chestnuts, chocolate and candied hazelnuts, made by Jonathan and Camille Villien in Arlebosc (€7 for 350 g).
