The former Marché aux Poissons? There’s a new beachy vibe in place ever since Gaston moved in to this Quai aux Briques space in 2016. At this boutique designed by Lionel Jardon (stripes galore, rough concrete, colorful tubular chairs), indulge in ice creams and sorbets that are heavily focused on the ingredients: Iranian pistachios, Sicilian hazelnuts, Madagascar vanilla, Valrhona dark chocolate, strawberries from Wépion… The sweet recipes whipped up by Turan and Lucy Ucar – who fell into the world of gelato when they were living in Bologna – draw in big crowds of ice cream lovers winter and summer alike. You can skip the Liège waffles though, which are somehow dry and elastic at the same time – at least the day we went. Worth noting: Gaston now has a second location in Stockel. // Rosa Poulsard

The hidden gem: The Sao Tomé dark chocolate and fleur de lait-stracciatella combo (€3 a scoop).
