If Wide Awake isn’t your favorite tea ’n’ coffee pit stop yet, it’s better latte than never! It must be said that this spot (bare brick walls, floral tiling, a concrete counter) docked at the very end of Rue de Flandre near the canal, is best known among demanding coffee addicts. And for good reason, because you’ll find Rutger Callewier and Senina Cojocari (Mains Bakery) dealing out well-sourced, high-quality hits, roasted in Anderlecht, like Anemone from El Salvador for the espresso, and Costa Rican Easy Rider or Colombian Saoko for the filter coffee. Sip it all while listening to a track list of Rosalía, The Brian Jonestown Massacre and Action Bronson… Brewtiful! // Rocky Simone
THE HIDDEN GEM: The Strawberry Fields vintage (€14 for 250g), a bourbon bean from Rwanda with an astonishing aftertaste of strawberry Fruitella.
