No weak brews in the Saint-Lambert neighborhood! As an ardent defender of quality java (and a former special education teacher) Gallien Jeanroy is filling the air on Rue d’Endoume with the lovely scent of home-roasted coffee beans, while creating connections with each cup. Between the sacks of still-green beans and a shiny roasting machine, regulars share a corner of the bar while sipping on Colombian coffee made using a V60 with lively apricot notes, or a well-rounded El Salvador macchiato with notes of cacao. And for a bite to eat to sweeten things up, there are some delicious pastries from the nearby Encore un Morceau bakery (sesame seed and white chocolate cookies) and Le Bada biscuits – navettes, hazelnut soufflés, buckwheat, hazelnut or cranberry palet biscuits and speculoos… // Victoria Bout
