Mystical Persia, with its bright colors, poetic landscapes and insane spices, is the source of inspiration for Setareh Pourjavan, who was born in Tehran but raised in Belgium. Despite opening smack dab in the middle of Covid, the chic Milad Ice Cream parlor is always full, which means you’ll need to arm yourself with patience if you want to get your hands on one of its precious pots filled with frozen delights: the coffee and cardamom flavor which unites Lebanon and Turkey; saffron, rose water and pistachio; almond and orange blossom; tahini and straciatella; or even lavender and honey, at €15 for a 500-ml tub. THE HIDDEN GEM: An orgasmic ice cream sandwich, stacking up carrot cookies and saffron pistachio and rose water ice cream, plus crushed pistachios (€9).
