Kanpai! If you feel like saying “cheers” in the language of Naruto, Julie Cétan (ex-Monkey Club) emptied out a former rock ’n’ roll pub along the Saone River and opened her new bar Kodama (translation: “spirit of the forest”). It’s a haven of stone, brick and oak, where lovers of Japanese spirits come for the €9 cocktails. Expect options like the Dento with toasted notes from buckwheat shochu, sake, beer syrup and bitters; or the Yokohama Harbour that combines gin, sake, lemon, black sesame syrup and aquafaba. Want more? There’s a selection of sakes (€3-8 a glass) and a short menu of Japanese snacks, like onigiri (€6.50) or takoyaki (€6). // Paul Hackett
