Things are heating up at the bottom of the Croix-Rousse hill! A cross between a club and a vinyl bar, Super5 provides good Berlin-style vibes in the center of Lyon (a second-hand sofa, big untreated wood tables, graffitied walls). Here you’ll find Aurélien Jacob pouring natural wines from Catalonia (sparkling wine from Partida Creus at €4.50 a glass), German beers (Benediktiner de Soif at €4 for a half-pint) and classic cocktails (Gin Basil Smash, Pisco Sour, Espresso Martini… all for €9 a piece), plus crispy pizzas – made in collaboration with Zaz. Once you’ve filled up, push back the plastic curtain (an homage to its former get-up as a mechanic’s garage) and you’ll stumble upon a tiny dance floor with a disco ball, where local electro bands play. // Paul Hackett
