Hoping to put an end to all those headache-inducing wines that fuel après-ski fondue parties, Marie Gentilleau and Maxime Michel dreamt up La Bamboche. Fresh from their time in Touraine, the couple transformed an old pub near the slopes into a charming wine bar, done up entirely with upcycled decor – a pine bar, a big table that was salvaged from the sawmill, a delightfully mismatched terrace… And your choice of 130 natural wines, from prized estates (Lapierre, Barret, Richaud) to stellar underground finds: Le Cri de l’Araignée, a Rhone red blend by Olivier Trombetta (€15), Anticonstitutionnellement, an Aude skin-contact wine by Alban Michel (€17), Les Terrasses, a delicate syrah by Yvan Bernard (€25), or a stunning chardonnay by young winemaker Axel Glesser in the Vercors (€34). Want to linger a little longer? For a €10 corkage fee, you can open up a bottle in house – and maybe even savor it with a pizza from their friend’s nearby restaurant, or a few of the small plates featured on their blackboard menu, like reblochon spring rolls, seasonal hummus or garden vegetable soup. // Ari Beaux

THE BULLET-PROOF BOTTLE: L’Écume des Jours, an explosively aromatic marsanne by Les Déplaude de Tartaras (€19).
