NUMBER OF ROOMS: 2 rooms and 1 suite
CLOSED ANNUALLY: From the end of November to Easter

THE STORY: Right near the Gorges du Verdon, Riez ticks off all the right boxes for a nice Provencal village that’s not too manicured—the century-old plane trees, the cafés, the roofs covered in round tiles, the market twice a week…and this beautiful XVII century hôtel particulier, transformed in 2010 into a guesthouse. Géraldine (a former interior decorator) managed to preserve the spirit of the place (the majestic gypsum staircase, hardwood flooring, tommettes…) all while injecting it with plenty of style: whitewashed walls, big waxed concrete showers, antique furniture…The house is full of peaceful corners to relax in, including a delicious hidden garden where you can take your breakfast, or, more importantly, your apéritif (homemade tapenade, local charcuteries…) underneath the arbor. Good to know: a small home decor/vintage boutique is now open on the ground floor. Rooms for two from €80 to €100, suite for four (two rooms) at €190.

TOILETRIES: Little monogrammed soaps from the Forte de Meyrargues savonnerie.
INTERNET: Free.
BREAKFAST: Included, with fresh bread (fougasses and ficelles), homemade jam, seasonal fruit salad, fromage blanc, fresh fruit juice, fresh goat cheese, local honey.
MINI-BAR: No, but there is a shared fridge upstairs.
LITTLE LUXURY: Géraldine can prepare a vintage icebox for your picnic at the Sainte-Croix lake (an excellent spot for bathing, 10 minutes away), or organize a cocktail for you in the big lavender field at sunset.
