THE STORY: After years of the Parisian lifestyle, Jeanne Laffitte, an interior designer, and Michaël Iniesta, a lighting engineer, bought this big bourgeois building dating back from the 15th century, located on the left bank of Selles-sur-Cher. True jack-of-all-trades, they did most of the renovations themselves (including the murals/photos on the walls) and transformed it into a cozy guest house with three very comfortable bedrooms. The style? Vintage furniture (Tomado shelves, an art deco mirror, a Scandinavian-inspired arm chair, an Eames chair) and nods to the 1930s and 1950s fill this lively green getaway, where guests get pampered for next to nothing: €72 for a double room, breakfast included.

BREAKFAST: Included, with coffee or tea, viennoiseries, bread, homemade jams, yogurt or homemade semolina, fruit salad, cereals, homemade madeleines or cakes, fresh fruit juice, cheese…. There are also gluten-free options if you place a request ahead of time.
LITTLE LUXURY: For €8 per person, Jeanne will prepare a vegetarian picnic basket for you (with bread, tapenade, cheese, fruit), if you want to visit the pandas at the neighboring Beauval zoo (just 20 minutes from the house)!
