THE STORY: Desperately seeking a cool hotel amongst all the luxurious chalets in Courchevel? Head to the Hôtel des 3 Vallées, ideally located on the “Croisette,” the local snow front. A member of the Beaumier group, this modernist gem from the 1950s fully incarnates the golden age of the first winter ski stations. In both the restaurant and the bedrooms (each of which has its own balcony), the mountain aesthetic has details that evoke “the early years”: old framed magazine covers, paneled walls, loop pile carpeting, cozy fireplaces, primary colors, swing arm wall sconces… Rooms starting at €350 a night.
