THE STORY: Samy Marciano, who already runs the Hôtel Bachaumont in the 2nd arrondissement, has opened up the Hôtel National des Arts et Métiers, located in between the Sentier and Haut Marais neighborhoods. He entrusted the space’s eclectic feel to interior designer Raphaël Navot, who was charged with connecting two Haussmannian buildings, centered around a patio with a retractable Eiffel-style glass canopy. Designed as miniature Parisian apartments (occasionally with a balcony or a terrace), the bedrooms mix grey, blue, beige and white tones, and favor fine materials: cotton voile fabric, wood, terrazzo, raw steel, etc. And as a bonus gift: the Ristorante National, the Herbarium cocktail bar is orchestrated by Oscar Quagliarini, and there’s a cicchetteria for snacking on Venetian tapas! Double rooms starting at €189 a night.
TOILETRIES: Racine liquid soap and conditioning shampoo.
INTERNET: Wifi (free)
BREAKFAST: €15 for the continental breakfast with coffee or tea, fresh fruit juice, bread, jams, spreads, pastries, quinoa, granola, cereal, a selection of cheeses and fruit…
MINI-BAR: Yes, with mineral waters, sodas, fruit juice, beer, chips, snacks, plus an electric teapot for making Mariages Frères tea and a Nespresso coffee machine.
LITTLE LUXURY: The incredible rooftop, where you can have a drink while enjoying the 360° view of Paris.
