THE STORY: Back in his favorite arrondissement (the 10th), Pierre Moussié (Chez Jeannette, Le Floréal, and, more recently, Café Barbès) has opened a small luxury hotel in a former brothel dating from 1854, located on a small cobblestoned square in the shade of the Port Saint-Martin arch. With only 18 rooms, the hotel — decorated by his wife Elodie and Sophie Richard — is as tiny as it is posh: walls draped in House of Hackney printed velvet, vintage light fixtures, Apollonide carpeting, a miniature cocktail bar in every bedroom, antique paintings, a fireplace…. Madeleine Castaing would have been pleased. Double rooms starting at €190 a night.
TOILETRIES: Organic shampoo, conditioner and shower gel from the brand Providence, an original creation designed by Ramdane Touhami of Officine Universelle Buly.
INTERNET: Wifi (free).
BREAKFAST: Included – buffet with hot drinks, bread, viennoiseries, brioche, fresh fruit, fresh fruit juice, artisanal yogurts and fromage blanc, muesli, financiers, cheeses, charcuteries and smoked fish.
MINI-BAR: There’s a well-stocked mini bistro bar, where you can make your own cocktails using their recipe book. Ice cubes are provided as well!
LITTLE LUXURY: The big suite on the top floor with stunning views of Paris’ rooftops and an immense mosaic-tiled bathroom where you can draw out the Carte de Tendre with a moist fingertip.
