THE STORY: Restored like an old Moroccan riad by architect Christophe Ducharme, this old hotel is a labyrinth of little white houses around a network of hydrangea-filled patios, including one with a heated pool at the center. Inside its walls, the cool and luminous bedrooms are filled with industrial objects and antique furniture. From the windows, you can see the sea, the village rooftops and the black and white bell tower of Ars-en-Ré. The hotel, which loans out beach games and provides babysitters for your adult evenings, is a really great find for families. Rooms and suites from €69 to €349.
