Oyster farmer Didier Fournier’s second cabin (the first, Ré Ostréa, is a kilometer away) bears its name well (QG de la Mer means Seaside HQ in French). Seated on colorful high chairs under Polynesian-style straw parasols, we enjoyed shellfish while taking in the impressive view of the Pertius Breton. On the blackboard menu: n°2, 3 and 4 oysters which come directly from the beds next to the tables; along with some beautiful pink shrimp, plump whelks, tourteau crab and langoustine… served by the piece or as part of a mixed platter. And let’s not forget the inevitable café gourmand either (clafoutis, financier, coconut rocher…). // V.B.

FEELING THIRSTY? A glass of Muscadet-sur-Lie from the Domaine Malidain (provided free of charge with every plate) or Charente rosé from the Domaine de Garancille (€19 a bottle).

PRICE: Shellfish €8-19, plates €15-28, huge platters €38 per person. Café gourmand €7. Cash only.
