THE STORY: A finance engineer by trade with a passion for textile design, Laurence Gautier has found a way to make a profit from all of her savoir-faire, by opening a small, stylish auberge in the Baie de Somme. The polar opposite of the hotels where she used to stay while traveling for the World Bank, her new spot mixes a pop art spirit, sixties influences, vintage furniture and contemporary prints. The perfect place for relaxing with a panoramic view or throwing on a pair of boots for fishing low tide. Rooms from €70 to €240 a night.

BREAKFAST: €11, with coffee, tea, fruit juices, viennoiseries, bread, gâteau battu, organic jams, honey, yogurt and fromage frais. Eggs, charcuterie and additional cheeses are available, for an added fee.
