THE STORY: In the little village of Saigneville (near Saint-Valéry-sur-Somme), this former presbytery with blue shutters has kept its wattle and daub walls, its priest’s garden and a few church benches. The owners welcome those who love to hike around the Baie de Somme into their four bed and breakfast rooms with a warm, bohemian ambiance. Starting at €70 a night for two people.

BREAKFAST: Fresh baguette and croissants from the baker, homemade brioche, jam, hot drinks, orange juice, cheese, fruit.
LITTLE LUXURY: The two antique caravans in the back of the garden, with their gipsy décor. Sleep in total comfort, with breakfast delivered in a picnic basket.
