Anymore hidden than this and you would have a problem! For starters, find the small alley in Montmartre, then the anonymous black garden door. Then, once you’re inside the velvety halls of the Hôtel Particulier, go downstairs to the Très Particulier…. Two rooms, two different ambiances. At the bar, which is decorated like a boudoir (mirrors, thick carpeting, forest-themed wallpaper, black tables…), and in the garden, with an almost Lynchian feel (a veranda, black and white checkerboard tile floors, cherry red velvet armchairs…). Served by Marc Fresneau, the cocktails are even more atmospheric than the scholarly soundtrack: an improbable Laura Palmer (Cocchi Americano, mastika gum, lime, simple syrup and sage, €13) or a bitter Amacord (cinnamon-infused Campari, lime, simple syrup, chinotto lemon emulsion, Sichuan peppers, €15). And for a bite to eat: Quatrehomme cheeses (€16) and croquetas (€8). DJs every Friday. // A.B.
